Verizon shared family data plans still on track for 2012

Families looking for a shared data option from Verizon Wireless can look forward to a new pooled data option finally launching later this year. In response to a question about shared data plans, Verizon CFO Fran Shammo confirmed the company’s intentions to launch the new plans this year, The Verge reported on Tuesday. “You’ll see something launched midyear this year from us,” he said. The carrier also revealed that out of roughly 108.7 million subscribers, only 5% of customers are using the company’s 4G LTE network.
